AIMS OF FAMILY & RELATIONSHIP THERAPY TRAINING COURSE
The course aims to provide both theoretical and practical
training in Family & Relationship Therapy. The theoretical
component of the course will be extensive, covering the major
theoretical orientations of family therapy and couples therapy. The
supervision segment will centre on 'live' supervision of families
and couples in therapy, and incorporating a 'reflecting team'
approach.
COURSE STRUCTURE
The course will be conducted on one weekday per week and will
commence the week beginning 6 February 2012. There will be forty
(40) sessions conducted each year, with a 4-week break in beginning
18 June 2012 and second semester resuming 23 July 2012 and ending
the first week of December 2012. The course will be held on either
a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday (to be confirmed with attendees)
from 3:30pm-8:30pm.
COURSE CONTENT AND TIME REQUIREMENT
The central focus of training will be to provide trainees with a
thorough theoretical foundation and practical training in Family
& Relationship Therapy. Although the theoretical
component is important, a major emphasis will be on the practical
application of this theory in therapy.

- Systems Theory
- Communication Theory
- Family Therapy
- Co-therapy Relationships

reviewing tapes, DVDs, etc., for their own preparation.
